Position Title: Nursing Faculty

Starting Salary: Masters Degree: Range $32,500.00 to $45,000.00 – depending on experience

Qualifications:
Master degree in nursing from accredited institution, must have an unencumbered license, and must have nursing practice experience.

Desired Experience/Training/Credentials:

  • Prefer teaching experience in nursing but not required.
  • Successful working/teaching experience with diverse student population.
  • Knowledge of contemporary pedagogical philosophies, methods, and techniques including multi-media to develop and deliver instruction in classroom and lab settings.
  • Ability to effectively use appropriate technology and equipment.
  • Ability to work collegially with all individuals in the tribal college setting.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Applicant must meet NDBON credentials for teaching in nursing.

Job Responsibilities NDDAC 54-03.2-04-01:

  1. Assist nursing department director in the planning, implementation, and evaluation, and updating of the nursing program.
  2. Assist in the design, implement, evaluate, and update the curriculum using a written plan.
  3. Assist in develop, implement, and evaluate, and update student admission, progression, retention and graduation according to the parent institution.
  4. Advisement and mentoring of nursing students.
  5. Provide didactic and practice instruction and experiences.
  6. If utilizing preceptors select, monitor, and evaluate in accordance with 54—03.2-04-07.
  7. Evaluate student success of curriculum related to nursing knowledge and practice.
  8. Participating in continuing education to ensure faculty competence and professional expertise.
  9. To apply effective teaching strategies for teaching in nursing at the practical and two year degree associate level as the nursing program evolves.
  10. To collaborate with Dean of Academics/Nursing Director to develop a scope and sequence of instruction for a practical nursing curriculum.
  11. To teach a maximum of 12 credits per semester (includes class plus labs).
  12. Develop and follow a five-year “Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP)” as prescribed by TMCC’s faculty salary policy manual.
  13. To accept TMCC committee(s) assignments and other related contract-delineated responsibilities as specified in contract.
