Doug Smith is a 1987 graduate of the University of Texas Law School. He has practiced in the areas of civil rights, employment, consumer and human rights law, and he has been admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Minnesota, Colorado, North Dakota, Turtle Mountain Tribal Court and Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court. He has taught in various law schools over the past twenty years, most recently at the University of North Dakota School of Law, and he has taught law and social action courses at Brandeis University, Tufts University, the University of Denver Graduate School of International Studies, Denver Women's College and the Paul A. Dever Middle School in Boston. With Project Peacemaker since 2005, Mr.Smith has taught Contracts/Torts, Interviewing, Investigation and Trial Skills and Introduction to Tribal Legal Studies.
